Following its Europe expansion in September, Convirture is
expanding its presence in China to serve the rising demand for its cloud and
virtualization organization solutions in the region.
Convirture China is based in Dalian and will be led by Chris
Lu, who has more than 10 years of experience in technical and marketing field.
"In the past year, a large portion of our consumer
growth has come from the Asia/Pacific region and China in particular,"
said Arsalan Farooq, CEO of Convirture. "Having a presence in China will
help us serve existing consumers while enabling us to raise our presence in
China much more rapidly. Chris is a terrific addition to the team."
Convirture make software that helps organizations manage
multi-cloud, multi-virtualized environments that include virtual machines from
VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V, Xen, KVM and multiple cloud solutions including
OpenStack, AWS and Eucalyptus.
OpenStack in particular is gaining traction for
enterprise-wide deployments and Convirture recently declared a backup solution
that is specifically designed to support OpenStack environments running on KVM.
"Open source, virtual and cloud solutions represent
huge opportunities in China," said Lu. "IT managers are looking for
the best possible tools that provide them a cost and competitive edge and often
a hybrid approach is best. Convirture's products provide an incredibly useful
and cost-effective way to manage and backup the virtual and cloud assets in a
way no other vendor has been able to deliver and I am looking forward to
bringing it to the China market."
