U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday, with both the
Dow and S&P 500 closing at records in a broad rally, though trading was
light with many market participants still out for the Christmas holiday.
Major indexes closed out their second straight
weekly gain, continuing an advance that has lifted the S&P 5.9 percent in
seven sessions. The benchmark index hit its 52nd record close of the year on Friday,
the most since 1995 and the fourth-best annual record ever, while the Dow rose
for a seventh straight day, its longest streak since March 2013.{1}
The Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) and
lightweight metals leader Alcoa Inc
(NYSE:AA) declared that the alumina
refinery at their partnership aluminum complex in Saudi Arabia has successfully
produced its first alumina from Saudi Arabian bauxite. The alumina refinery at
Ras Al Khair is the first ever refinery to be constructed and operated in the region.
Arch
Coal Inc (NYSE:ACI) declared that James E. Florczak, Arch's
treasurer, will retire at the end of January after a 16-year career with Arch
Coal. He will be succeeded by Matthew C.
Giljum, who will become vice president, finance and treasurer at that time.

Steel Holding Corporation (NYSE:AKS) recently that release
its fourth quarter and full-year 2014 financial results before the opening of
trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. AK Steel
will also provide live listening access on the Internet to its earnings
conference call to be held at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time on January 27, 2015.
